Co-artistic Director Simon had his first acting job with Saltmine over a decade ago. Since then he has completed a Masters in Acting at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama and acted and directed around the world.
Joanna
Creative Arts Coordinator Studying English and Drama at Royal Holloway College, Joanna is one of our longest serving staff members and works to get us and you to the right place at the right time.
Rachael
Chief Executive Officer Rachael served for 12 years on the Spring Harvest leadership team. She then moved on to get her MA in Applied Theology and Leadership at Moorlands Bible College before joining us in 2010.
Steve
Facilities Manager Following a 30-year career in the police force, Steve joined us in 2019 after volunteering at The Birmingham Passion Play 2019.
Chez
Photographer Chez has been a photographer for over 10 years and has worked with clients such as The Guardian, Ella’s Kitchen and The British Council. He studied Photography at Falmouth University and has been with us since 2015.
Rowmell
Actor Rowmell first worked with us in The Birmingham Passion Play 2019. After acting for 8 years, he describes Saltmine as the place where his faith and passion meet in one place.
Bethany
Design Lead After studying fashion in Amsterdam, Bethany went on to do a degree in Fashion Design at Falmouth University. She is now the brains behind the beauty of our costumes and set.
Ben
Co-Artistic Director Ben completed a Foundation Degree in Community Evangelism in 2010 and went on to join us in 2011. He is now our longest serving actor and with thousands of performances under his belt he started directing for us in 2018.
Theo
Freelance Actor Theo was born in Birmingham and studied Theatre and Professional Practice at Coventry University. He has worked with Saltmine since 2016 performing in many of our Theatre in Education shows.
Anisha
Actor Anisha trained at Bath Spa and went on to work as a freelance actor. She joined us in 2021 after acting in The Birmingham Passion Play 2019 community cast.
Freddy
Creative Associate After completing a degree in Ancient History at the University of Reading, Freddy joined us in 2012. He has toured thousands of miles with us in thousands of performances.
Kieran
Freelance Director/Actor Keiren trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire receiving a BA in Applied Performance in 2014. Since graduating he has worked with The Rep, Netflix and Strictly Arts to mention a few. He has been freelancing with us since 2016.
Andre-Pierre
Freelance Actor Andre-Pierre studied Acting at Birmingham Theatre School and has gone on to feature in films for Amazon Prime and Netflix and in TV series ‘Seaview’. He started freelancing with us in 2018.
Hannah
Acting Intern Hannah has had a passion for performing for many years and is excited to join Saltmine as an acting intern.
Caroline
Freelance Director Caroline has been a theatre maker and director for the past 20 years, recently working with the RSC, Birmingham Rep and Women & Theatre. She has been working with us since 2014.
Diane
Finance Administrator Diane graduated from Surrey University with a BA Hons Degree in Business Studies and Religious Studies. Since graduation she has taken on several roles in the finance industry and joined us in 2021. 
Lydia
Marketing Coordinator & Digital Comms Lydia worked in Australia as a full-time volunteer mentoring young people from 2013-2020. Since then, she has studied with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and joined us in 2021.
Suzi
Intern Suzi took a year out in 2020 to study drama after completing her A-Levels. She joined us in 2022 as an intern.
Daniel
Actor/Musician Daniel studied Applied Theology and Performing Arts at Regents Theological College and went on to work as a freelance actor. He started working with Saltmine in 2019.
Franco
Graphic Designer & Website Developer Starting off with a degree in Fine Art and Design, Franco went on to become a freelance graphic designer. He joined us in 2012 and he is behind our website and artwork.
Emily
Actor/Writer Emily has a BA Hons English Literature and Language from Oxford University. She has worked with Riding Lights and Little Blue Monster and joined us in 2017.
Jacob
Sound Engineer, Technician & Composer After finishing a Diploma in Popular Music and Worship (Live Sound), Jacob became a freelance technician. He joined us in 2016 and now composes original music for us.
Henry
Freelance Actor Henry studied at the University of Birmingham and trained at Drama Studio London. He then interned at his local church in Ealing for a year before joining Saltmine for the ‘Switch Up’ tour in 2023.
Phoebe
Creative Assistant Intern Phoebe is currently a Theatre Student at Lancaster University and joins us in 2023 as a Creative Assistant Intern as an extension of her degree.
Carl
Musical Director Carl has been a professional musician for over forty years. He has worked with a wide variety of artists from Graham Kendrick to British soul Queen Beverly Knight, Gospel legend Andrae Crouch to Disco diva Gloria Gaynor. Carl has worked with Salmine since 1986, most recently as a vocal coach and arranger for the team.
Lesley
Vice Chair of Board Lesley is the UK director of Agapé and has been a part of our board since 2014. She is now our current Vice Chair.
Iain
Trustee Iain joined the Board in March 2019. Professionally, he helps people move into self-employment and is involved with several Christian initiatives focussed on community transformation.
Andy
Trustee Andy joined Saltmine's board of Trustee's in 2012 whilst also being the Chief Financial Officer of Leeds Building Society.
Dan
Chair of Board Alongside being the current Chair of Saltmine's board, Dan is the CEO of The Mercian Trust, a multi academy trust of schools serving communities in Walsall and surrounding areas. He joined us in 2017.
Judy
Trustee Judy joined the Board in 2017. She is a speaker, writer and performer who is part of the leadership team of Riverside Church in Birmingham.
